The client was introducing a new
quarterly magazine, “Minnesota Travelog,” and needed
designs for a cover, content page and general layout for
articles. Each issue was to represent one of the four
seasons of the year. The first issue was geared toward
autumn and reflected the colors of this season: red,
brown, gold, blue and yellow. Since pictures speak
louder than words, images of autumn were depicted. Serif
fonts were chosen for the word Travelog, in the title,
and the headings and text. A script font was employed
for the word Minnesota. An image of the state, in
varying colors of autumn, can be seen on all the pages.
This connected all the elements and maintained the theme
of the magazine…traveling in Minnesota.
